Mushing is considered the official sport of the Yukon (we even have a sled dog on our flag). During the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898-1899 many prospectors came to the territory by dog sled and it became the common form of transportation and a major part of our history. Today, the sport is honoured in the North with different events such as the Yukon Quest, the Percy DeWolfe Memorial Mail Race and many more. Our goal at Echoes Kennel to keep the sport alive by offering it to the world
